“How many hats do you wear?” is an American idiom for “how many jobs do you have?”
In my case, I have a hat rack that displays my jobs or my “calling.”
My favorite is on top: GO WEST. Ya gatta GO to know why.
Followed by “Of Course I’m Right: I’m Bob” (from Bob is Your Uncle, Savannah Riverfront Store).
Next is my a hat full of memories from our contribution to the 96 Olympics when The Spirit of God enabled us to match host families from 50 churches around the city to over 650 i-students & staff for 4 days of action packed events. Meals, local transportation, commemorative t-shirt, hat, souvenir trading pin, and gate entrances to major events cost less than $40. Can you imagine that? Now that was a deal! Plus we sponsored 50 ethnic receptions in downtown churches & hosted an extra 50 outreach partners all of which turned the 5 Olympic Rings into a 3 ring circus @ our house.
Some may wonder if these hats give me a big head? I hope they reveal The Spirit’s big heart to show off His Head.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church. Ephesians 1:17-22
Do you hats show that your heart is “enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you ?”
Do they demonstrate “his incomparably great power for us who believe.”
Do the hats you wear point to Jesus as the head of your life?
Is He the head over everything in your life?
