After a 3rd bus breakdown during our recent Go West trip, many of us wondered, “Where is God?” “Why has He abandoned us?”

If God is Good, Great & Glorious, then why are we experiencing so many difficulties while on a trip to see the beauty of His Creation?

It might seem odd, but God tells us to give Him thanks in the middle of our battles, especially when times get tough. He wants us to know He is in control of our lives even when we feel He is not present.

Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God,
and keep the vows you made to the Most High.
Then call on me when you are in trouble,
    and I will rescue you,
and you will give me glory.

Giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me.
If you keep to my path,
I will reveal to you the salvation of God.

Psalm 50: 14,15, 23

After we stopped to thank Him,  no more bus delays slowed us down from seeing His goodness, His greatness and His glory. But maybe it was only those who personally made that sacrifice of praise that got that far in their journey of faith.

We walk by faith; not by sight…2 Cor 5:7
