GA, Atlanta Ben Allin

Ben@iface.orgBen facilitates international friendships and cultural exchange. He is the husband of Na Young and the father of three teenagers. Originally from California, he spent his elementary and middle school years in Tunisia and Algeria. He then attended high school in Puerto Rico before returning to the United States to study international affairs in Washington, D.C. After that, he worked as a hotel manager in New York City for several years before transitioning to teaching English to adults. This change took him to South Korea, where he taught university students and prepared workers for moving to the United States. During his time in Korea, he completed a graduate degree in intercultural conflict resolution and lived there for several years before moving to Atlanta in 2012. His graduate research focused on using international education to create opportunities for people to enhance their communication and negotiation skills across cultures in collaborative ways. While teaching English to international students in Atlanta, Ben began developing a community of people from diverse cultures to provide free, frequent, and effective opportunities for intercultural learning, communication practice, and social and professional networking. As iFace staff, Ben develops innovative partnerships with diverse nonprofit and religious communities. Ben has a BA in Middle Eastern Studies, an MA in Conflict Resolution, an M.Ed in Teaching English to Adult Speakers of other Languages, and a Master of Divinity.
